The Purpose of this study was to examine hope level and quality of life of prostitutes in Taegu. The subjects of this study were 355 prostitutes who have been in Dowon-dong 3ga area (so called "Jagal madang") in Taegu Metropolitan City from February 15 to March 31, 2001
The score of perceived hope was 3.58, according to 3 subcategories, mean significant differences between level of hope and educational level, economic status, job before current status, relationship with family and drug abuse status(p<0.01).
Mean score of perceived quality of life was 3.14, according to 6 sub-categories, mean score of economical activities was highest. There were significant differences between level of quality of life and educational level, economic status, keep of current status, perceived current health status and drug abuse(p<0.05, p<0.01).
The relationship between hope level and quality of life revealed a significant positive correlation(0.5880).
There were significant association between level of hope and educational level, relationship with family, job before current life(p<0.05, p<0.01) and quality of life and keep of current life, received current health status(p<0.01).
